BIOGRAPHY
The band SKW was formed in 1989 with the monicker “Skywalker”.
Today SKW are:

The first demo-tape was realized in 1992. The band started playing live in 1993 and in the same year they released the second demo. The demo had good reviews from the Italian press, radio, magazines and from the Italian fanzines. In 1995 the band played in different important clubs and recorded its third demo-tape, which also had a great approval and a big promotion in radios and rock magazines.
In 1997 the most important Italian metal magazine Metal Hammer wanted Skywaler to join the big Metallica tribute concert which took place at Factory, Milan. During this event Skywalker had the chance of supporting some very important Italian bands. Skywalker was included in some Italian and foreign compilations and in 1998 Skywalker changed their monicker in SKW, recording “Techno-Logical”, their final international consecration, a very powerful album. This last work allowed the band to get signed with Adrenaline Records and to be distributed worldwide. In 1999 the band played in Milan with Soulfly, Max Cavalera’s band, and with Amorphis. They also played with Metallica’s Jason Newsted during a tribute night dedicated to the 4 horsemen in which the band entertained the crowd at the Metallica – day organised for the release of the new Metallica’s album “S&M”.
In December 2000 was released the new band’s album “Connection” made up by 12 original tracks more aggressive, but different from the debut album. In 2002 the band played at Together As One festival supporting The Haunted. After a long, endless tour, in 2004 SKW went to the studio to record their third album, “Alter Ego”, mature and powerful, fresh and strong, rich of new influences, thanks to the band’s musical and technical evolution. After the recordings of this new work, SKW signed a contract with the Italian label Vacationhouse and the French Deadsun records , obtaining the distribution all over the world. The third album “Alter Ego” was released in January 2005.
In March 2005 was also released the video of the song “Alter Ego”, shot by the young and talented director, Laura Stabilini. “Alter Ego Tour” lasted 3 years where the band played a bit everywhere. In 2007 the band did a deal for a new management with Alkemist-Fanatix and started to record a new album, also thanks to the meeting with the producer, Frank Andiver. The mastering of the CD was made by the producer Kim Rosen, at the well-known American studios WWSM in New Jersey. ”Numbers” was released in February 2009 on Risingworks label, worldwide distributed by Self/Code7/Plastic Head.
This album is the strong expression of the musical maturity acquired by the band which emphasises the mix between American modern metal and the band’s usual energy, completed by a sonorous evolution of aggressiveness and by melodies of strong atmospheres.
A new video of the track “1minute2Lie” was filmed in Los Angeles, California by Laura Stabilini, the director,and produced by Gianfilippo Pedrotti (Vasco, Jovanotti), Director of Photography Michael Pescasio (Papa Roach, Simple plan, Soulfly) In 2013 a new single and videoclip was out! The song is called "Numbers", and the clip was filmed by Ilaria DallaCasa and edited by Federico Quistini.
After the new never ended italian and european tour (Numbers tour included gigs in russia and Ukraine), SKW, with producer Frank Andiver, recorded the new album "SIGNS" and got a new deal with Luca Bernardoni for the management of the band.
New single/videoclip "Amnesia" was released in April, 2014 produced by MotelVista production - Ilaria Dalla Casa, and new record "SIGNS" was released in May, 2014 by BAGANA records. Second single "Red Sector A" was released in December 2014, produced by MotelVista production - Ilaria Dalla Casa, filmed during 25 years SKW party. In March, 2015 was released the 3rd Videoclip Single from "Signs", "Never so Close", produced by Motel Vista Factory.
"Signs” was released in Europe & world in october 2015 by Sliptrick Records.
In 2021, after years of live touring, they finished recording new material with Frank Andiver as producer. In October 2022, the band releases the single "Mindset" on the
the Sorry Mom label! And it will be just a taste of what will be the new album in 2023. At the end of January 2023, SKW releases "Inside Out" (by Be Next Music/Sony) the second new single featuring a guest appearance by Alteria, a well-known singer and DJ on Virgin Radio. Third single called 'Humans' was released in april (by Be Next Music/Sony) and in July 2023 the band released "Face to Face, Heart to Heart" a metal powerful version of the classic cover by 80's Twins. In november 2023 was released "Infinte Game", the last single of 2023, a powerful song with a very professional videoclip out with a premier on SKYTG24, real important web site of a popular channel on platform SKY.
The new album “HUMANS” was released on January 19, 2024 for Sorry Mom/Be Next Music with Universal distribution.

Gli SKW si formano a Milano nel lontano 1989, con il monicker Skywalker.
La formazione attuale, stabile dall 1996, comprende: Marco Laratro(Voce), Simone Anaclerio (Chitarre), Mirko Voltan(Basso) e Giancarlo Piras(Batteria).
Il primo demo-tape targato Skywalker viene realizzato nel 1992. Nel 1992 la band inizia a suonare dal vivo e nello stesso anno esce il secondo demo-tape. Il demo riceve buone recensioni dalla stampa italiana, dalle radio, dai magazine e dalle fanzine di tutta Italia. Nel 1995 la band suona in locali e situazioni importanti registrando il terzo demo-tape.
Ricevuto un ottimo consenso ed una grande pubblicità da parte dei giornali specializzati e radio, nel 1997 gli Skywalker vengono contattati dal più importante giornale metal italiano, Metal Hammer, per partecipare al grande concerto di tributo ai Metallica al Factory (Milano). In questa occasione gli Skywalker aprono per band italiane rock/metal molto importanti. Alcuni mesi dopo, nell'estate del 1997, gli Skywalker partecipano ad eventi di rilievo.
Dopo aver partecipato a varie compilation italiane e estere, nel 1998 gli Skywalker cambiano il loro monicker in SKW e registrano "Techno-Logical", la loro definitiva consacrazione internazionale, un album molto potente, grazie al quale ottengono un contratto con la Adrenaline records ed una distribuzione mondiale.
Durante il 1999 la band suona a Milano come supporto per i Soulfly di Max Cavalera e per gli Amorphis. La band suona anche insieme a Jason Newsted dei Metallica durante una serata tributo ai 4 horsemen dove gli SKW intrattengono la folla al metallica-day organizzato per l'uscita del nuovo album dei Metallica "S&M". Nel dicembre 2000 esce il nuovo album della band "Connection" che vede la presenza di 12 pezzi originali sempre piu' aggressivi ma di piu' ampio respiro rispetto all'album di esordio.
Nel 2002 gli SKW suonano come supporto ai The Haunted e dopo un interminabile tour gli SKW entrano in studio nel 2004 per registrare il terzo album “Alter ego”, maturo e potente, fresco e aggressivo, ricco di spunti nuovi, devoto all’evoluzione tecnica e musicale della band. Terminate le registrazioni gli SKW firmano un contratto con la label italiana Vacationhouse records e con lafrancese deadsun records per un deal che prevede la distribuzione del prodotto in tutto il mondo. Il terzo album “Alter ego” esce a Gennaio 005.
A Marzo 2005 esce il video della song “Alter ego” girato dalla giovane e talentuosa regista Laura Stabilini. L’”Alter Ego tour” dura circa 3 anni dove la band suona un po’ ovunque. Nel 2007 la band si accorda con Alkemist-Fanatix per il management e comincia le registrazioni del suo album migliore grazie anche all’incontro del produttore Frank Andiver. Il mastering del disco viene effettuato ai rinomati studios statunitensi d el new jersey WWSM dal produttore Kim Rosen. Il disco esce nel Febbraio 2009 su etichetta RISINGWORKS e distribuzione mondiale SELF/CODE7/PLASTICHEAD, ed e’ la forte espressione della maturita’ musicale ormai acquisita dalla band, un incrocio tra il metal moderno americano e l’energia tipica della band, una evoluzione sonora che accoglie aggressivita’ e melodia sempre di forti atmosfere.
Un nuovo video viene girato a Los Angeles , California, USA del singolo “1minute2lie”. La regista e’ ancora Laura Stabilini, il produttore e’ Gianfilippo Pedrotti (gia’ producer di video di Vasco e Jovanotti), il direttore della fotografia Michael Pescasio (Simple Plan,Soulfly,Papa Roach). Nel 2013 esce un secondo singolo e video ("Numbers") girato da Ilaria Dalla Casa, montato da Federico Quistini.
Dopo "Numbers" e dopo un nuovo e interminabile tour italiano ed estero (culminato anche in un tour in Russia e Ucraina), gli SKW nel 2013, sempre con il produttore Frank Andiver, entrano nuovamente in studio per registrare il nuovo album "SIGNS" e Luca Bernardoni diventa il manager della band.
La band firma per BAGANA records e l'album "SIGNS" esce a maggio 2014, anticipato dal video/singolo "Amnesia", produzione Motel Vista di Ilaria Dalla Casa. Inizia il "Signs" tour.
A dicembre 2014 esce il videoclip “Red Sector A” cover dei Rush, video girato durante il party dei 25 anni della band. In Marzo 2015 esce anche il terzo singolo "Never So Close", con un videoclip sempre firmato da Motel Vista Factory. Il disco “Signs” esce per l’Europa e per il mondo in ottobre 2015 su Sliptrick records.
Nel 2021, dopo anni di tour dal vivo, finiscono di registrare il nuovo materiale con Frank Andiver come produttore. In ottobre 2022 la band esce con il singolo “Mindset” per
l’etichetta Sorry Mom! E sarà solo l’assaggio di quello che sarà il nuovo album nel 2023. A fine gennaio 2023 gli SKW pubblicano “Inside Out” per Be Next Music/Sony il secondo nuovo singolo che vede la partecipazione come guest di Alteria, nota cantante e dj di Virgin Radio. Ad aprile esce un nuovo singolo "Humans" semppre per Be Next/Sony e a Luglio il quarto singolo "Face To Face, Heart to Heart" cover del classico anni 80 dei Twins, rivisitato in maniera pazzesca, versione sorprendente e potente nello stile della band. In novembre esce un nuovo singolo potentissimo accompagnato da un video la cui anteprima è uscita su SKYTG24, ‘Infinite Game’, l’ultimo dell’anno 2023.
Il 19 Gennaio 2024 esce il nuovo album “HUMANS” per Sorry Mom/Be Next Music con distribuzione Universal.
